Professional Guide Terry Dalton

My name is Terry Dalton and I am the owner of Horsecreek Outfitters and a guide here at Horsecreek Lodge. My outdoor experiences started at a young age, mostly fishing with my grandpa. When I was in my early 20's I moved to Utah, and started hunting. First were mule deer and then elk in the high Uintas. Soon I was hunting pheasants around the Great Salt Lake. A friend asked if I was interested in duck hunting, and I said sure! It didn't take long and I was hooked. After elk hunting season was over I spent every moment in the marshes west of Ogden, Utah. Since then I've been hunting as much as possible.

Another skill I picked up was fly fishing and fly tying. In the spring and summer I spent most every weekend at the Green River in Eastern Utah. I bought a Hyde Drift Boat and started guiding both in Utah and Idaho. I also enjoy teaching fly fishing.

I moved to Missouri with my wife in the spring of 1997. I took a job in the family business here on the lodge property. It's great being here everyday, I'm able to keep an eye on the wildlife, and also learn their patterns. We have done extensive work to enhance the wildlife habitat. Brad and I spend a great deal of time planting food plots, building wood duck boxes and preparing stand sites. I am commited to making sure our guests have an enjoyable time, both hunting and relaxing while here at the Lodge.

My specialties are spring turkey hunting, archery deer hunting and wildlife photography. Turkey hunting is probably the most thrilling kind of hunting--being only feet from an animal, and having them completely unaware to the fact that they're being hunted. We have several large flocks of turkey here at Horsecreek Lodge, therefore we are proud of our 100% success rate in the Spring 2002 hunt. We have the equipment to meet your hunting needs. We are a Ducks Unlimited sponsor member, and also a member and supporter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
