General Questions

Where are you located?

Horse Creek Lodge & Outfitters is located on 56228 Delta Drive in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon. We’re about 50 miles east of Eugene and just minutes away from the famous McKenzie River Trail, so there’s plenty of ways for you to explore!

What kind of payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express). Guests may also pay with checks, cash, or via PayPal if they prefer.

Are you open during the winter?

Yes. We are open all year, and our cabins are available during the winter. After all, there’s nothing better than curling up in front of a fire, and all our lodges come equipped! Depending on the weather conditions, our shuttles and rentals may not be available. Please check the booking calendar on each individual activity page for more information about availability during winter months.

What are the road conditions like in the winter?

The roads are well-maintained in the winter, and our lodge is accessible year-round. We encourage guests to look at Tripcheck for up-to-the-minute info on road conditions, closures, and weather advisories. We will also reach out to our guests directly if there are any weather or road conditions to be aware of.

Can I host my event at your facilities?

Absolutely! We can help you host your event, whether it’s a seminar, retreat, family reunion, wedding, or something completely different. We can even help you with transportation to and from the event! Our 14-passenger buses and vans are available for as low as $60 per hour, including the driver.

Accommodations

Does the price per night include taxes?

Yes. Our listed cabin rates all include the 11.5% state and city lodging tax.

What's your cancellation policy?

Please See our Cancellation Policy Page for more information.

Cabin reservations will receive a deposit refund minus a 15% cancellation fee up to 72 hours (14 Days for Delta House) before the time of check in on the first day of your reservation. Deposits for cancellation requests less than 72 hours (14 days for Delta house) prior will not be refunded. Cancellation requests less than 24 hours and any no shows will not be refunded for the first night of the reservation.

Do you allow dogs?

We do allow dogs in our cabins and at the campground (on a leash). There is a non-refundable fee of $25 for the cabins. When booking, please add the pet fee if you will be bringing a dog with you or contact us and we can add it to your reservation. You will be responsible for any damage done inside of the cabins.

Is the fireplace the only source of heat in the winter?

Although our fireplaces are cozy, they’re not our only source of heat! Our cabins also come equipped with mini-split heat pumps, as well as air conditioning to cool you down in the summer.

Do your cabins come with firewood and kindling?

Cabins are stocked with kindling and one bundle of firewood but if you need more than that they are just $5. We also have bundles of firewood for sale in our store for campers.  Please note, however, that we do not provide charcoal for the outdoor barbecue. If you’d like to purchase some, we recommend visiting the nearby Blue Sky Market.

Activities & Rentals

Are your guides river rafting trips suitable for beginners?

Definitely. Anyone age five or older is welcome on our rafting trips — no previous experience necessary!

Do you have any recommendations on where to take my stand-up paddleboard?

There’s plenty of reservoirs and lakes for you to enjoy by kayak or paddleboard, and they’re all located only a short drive (20 to 25 minutes) from the McKenzie Outdoor Center. Here are our favorites:

What are the difficulty levels on the trails?

The McKenzie River Trail is suitable for intermediate to advanced mountain bikers, as well as the O’Leary Trail Loop. There are also lower drop off options on the McKenzie River Trail that make it  suitable for beginners.   However, riders on the latter should anticipate little to no cell phone service, so being self-sufficient is a must. Lastly, we recommend that only advanced riders use the Olallie Trail.

Do you have kids' sizes available for your mountain bikes?

Yes. We have a range of children’s mountain bike rentals for you to choose from.
